Moving in

If you or a loved one would like to live in one of our homes, this page explains how to get started, whether you live in California now or in another state.

Where do you live now?

You live in California

You can transfer Regional Centers

Our homes are in Riverside County, which is served by Inland Regional Center. If you are served by a different Regional Center now, your case can be transferred.

  1. Call us. We will talk through what you are looking for and what care is needed.
  2. Tell your service coordinator. Let your current Regional Center know, as early as you can, that you are interested in moving to one of our homes.
  3. The two Regional Centers work together. Your current Regional Center and Inland Regional Center coordinate the transfer. State guidelines say services should not be delayed or stopped while a transfer is in progress.

You live outside California

We can help with your move

If you live in another state, we can help facilitate your move into one of our homes.

  1. Call us. Tell us about your situation and we will explain what a move involves.
  2. Apply for Regional Center services. People living in our homes are Regional Center consumers. The Regional Center decides who is eligible, and its assessment is free.
  3. Plan the move with us. We work with you, your family or conservator, and the Regional Center on the steps and the timing.

Eligibility for Regional Center services, and approval of a placement, are decided by the Regional Center. Serenity does not make those decisions, but we can help you through the process.
