Our Care

Nursing care

Our homes are licensed Intermediate Care Facilities. Residents receive skilled nursing care where they live — not in a hospital or institution.

What is an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)?

An Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) is a licensed home where people with developmental disabilities receive nursing care where they live, instead of in a hospital or a large institution.

Nursing care we provide

These are examples of the care provided in our homes.

Tube feeding

For people who cannot take enough food by mouth, nutrition is given through a feeding tube.

Catheterization

A thin tube is used to drain the bladder for people who cannot empty it on their own.

Ostomy care

Care of a stoma, which is a surgical opening in the belly, including changing the pouch and looking after the skin around it.

Oxygen administration by nasal cannula

Extra oxygen is given through a small, soft tube that rests under the nose.

Medication administration and management

Medications are given on schedule, and orders, refills and changes are kept track of.

Infection monitoring

We watch for signs of infection so they can be acted on early.

Health and behavioral data collection

We keep records of each resident's health and behavior, so the care team can see changes and patterns.

Health care management and coordination with physicians

We arrange care, keep each resident's physicians informed, and follow up on what they order.

Who provides the care

Nursing oversight and direct care are provided by qualified professionals.

Registered Nurse (RN) consultant

RN consultant services cover case management, nursing oversight, education and training, medication management, infection monitoring, and overseeing specialized procedures.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

An LVN is in the home every day.

Medical Director

A Medical Director provides physician direction for the care.
